Arja Hop & Peter Svenson - BIOCHROMATIC STUDIES IN A RHINE FLOODPLAIN
Arja and Peter have been investigating the flora and the intricate relationship between humans and the environment in their project series “Rhine Ecologies” since 2015. Focusing on the Rhine—a river once rich in biodiversity—they explore natural dyes and how plants communicate with their surroundings. Their work in the Kastenwört-Wald highlights the importance of floodplains as vital habitats. With collected samples, they create a color map representing the region's conditions, aiming to foster a deeper understanding of our connection to the earth through these natural elements.
